The Special Items are limited run art editions, contained in a custom designed Chowa Box. Item #001 is the first in the series and celebrates the 300 year old tradition of making Kiri-Bako. The book is designed as a stylized flip book, showcasing the masters behind the box making process. This is interwoven with the abstract natural environment of the Paulownia forest near the factory in Fukuyama. Together, the two stories express links between the heritage of Kiri-Bako and contemporary culture.
